How it began

Creative Little Explorers was conceived in 2016 when Ndamono Shinana shared with her husband a dream of establishing a premium Childcare Centre in Eenhana, where he was residing. Fueled by her passion for early childhood education, this vision was strengthened in 2023 as they searched for a nurturing, child-centered early learning Centre in Windhoek for their children aged 3 and 1.

They sought an institution emphasizing children's emotional well-being over strict academics. With their children in mind, Ndamono started exploring the possibility of opening a school that supports children's learning and development without criticism and judgement, and without the toxic stress that can come from pushing children to learn too much, too early.

Ndamono devoted quality time researching early childhood education, and exploring what it would take to open and operate a childcare Centre. Recalling a conversation about the excellence and superiority of Finnish early childhood education, she looked no further. Having lived in Europe and Southeast Asia, Ndamono and her husband have come to appreciate the link between exceptional education and the success of these regions. This school will contribute to the advancement of the Namibian education system. Despite challenges, the dream of CLe persisted and has now materialized with the support of family and friends and the rest as they say is history.

Story behind the name “Creative Little Explorers” CLe

The learning centre was named CLe because of its pedagogic approach, which encourages children to be creative, to explore, and to learn through play.  CLe, which also means ‘Key’ in French, will bring endless opportunities to our little explorers.
